ATMA 2022 Preparation Tips: Section-wise and General Strategies to Score Well

ATMA is a national-level exam conducted by the Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) for admission to MBA, PGDM, MCA, and PGDBA programmes. ATMA scores are accepted by over 750 management colleges in India for admission to management degrees.

As per latest ATMA Exam Pattern, the question paper comprises 180 questions to be attempted in 3 hours. The test aims to assess the Analytical Reasoning, Quantitative and Verbal Skills of a candidate. With that said, only candidates with top-notch preparation will be able to crack the exam

Quantitative Ability and Aata Analysis

1. Please revise all the topics you learned in school which will also be asked in ATMA. Starting with questions from your class 10 and 12 Math textbooks is the best approach to begin with.
2. All of your fundamental concepts should be clear. You must not be perplexed by commonly used formulas. When it comes to clearing ATMA, time is of the utmost importance. So knowing how to solve questions isn’t enough; you also need to know how to solve them quickly. Try to learn important formulas and short tricks to solve questions quickly.
3. Getting adequate practise will help you improve your speed. To increase your accuracy, practise solving previous years’ question papers on a regular basis. Examine solved question papers to understand the logic behind the question and its correct answer. Move on to the next difficult question if you get stuck on one.

Verbal Ability or Language Comprehension

1. This section will assess your comprehension of the English language and quiz you on your command of the language. You’ll need to improve your vocabulary and comprehensive reading skills
2. Practice reading and answering questions about paragraphs. To understand word meanings, idioms, and phrases, read periodicals and newspapers on a regular basis. If you can read a few good novels, that will be even better.
3. To improve your knowledge of basic grammar, refer to the grammar books you read in middle school.

Analytical Reasoning

1. This ATMA portion is regarded as one of the most tough. Your capacity to reason critically and logically will be evaluated here. It is recommended that you routinely practise solving puzzles and riddles in order to do well in this part.
2. To develop your critical thinking skills, practise coding and decoding questions. Practice reading statements and coming to logical conclusions, as well as identifying false logic.
3. The key to success in this section is to practise as much as possible from past years’ question papers so that you have a good idea of the question pattern.

Important General Tips to Remember While Strategizing Your Preparations

1. Before commencing their preparation, candidates must have a general understanding of the examination pattern and syllabus. It will help them create an effective study plan and prepare smartly.
2. Candidates must develop an efficient and effective schedule. They must follow through on their decisions in a systematic manner. This will help them prevent any outstanding work and ensure that the entire curriculum works smoothly.
